5. When and How do I have to repay?

5.1 Tuition Fee Loan and Maintenance Loan

If you take out a student loan, you will not have to start making repayments until you have left your course and are earning over a certain amount; currently £15,000 per year.
If you are earning in excess of £15,000 per year, your loans will become due for repayment on the 6th April following the date that you complete or leave your course.
If your earnings drop below £15,000 at any time, your repayments would stop until you are earning over this amount again.

5.2 Maintenance Grant and Training Bursary

All funds received from these grants and bursaries do not have to be repaid. However, in the case of the Training Bursary, if you leave the course for any reason, your payments will stop.
