3. What Statutory Support Can I Get?

3.1  Tuition Fee Loan

UK and EU students can take out a tuition fee loan to cover the full amount of our tuition fee, see
How Much Will it Cost?.  Taking out a tuition fee loan allows you to defer payment of your tuition fees until after you have completed your course, see When and How do I Have to Repay?

In order to do this, students in England will need to apply for a loan on line through Student Finance England.
For further details on how to apply for this loan, see How Can I Get That Support? The tuition fee is then paid directly to us by the Student Loan Company.

3.2  Living Cost Loans to cover the cost of your living expenses.

3.2.1 Maintenance Loan

UK students may apply for a loan for living expenses from the Student Loan Company.  In order to do this, students in England will need to apply for the loan on line through Student Finance England.  For further details on how to apply for this loan see How Can I get that Support? or Directgov website.  For students from other parts of the UK follow the links on the right-hand side "Not from England?" of the Directgov website.

The table below shows the maximum amount of maintenance loan available for 2010/11.

Please note that this is reduced if you are in receipt of a Maintenance Grant.
