Chris Wakely, Modern Foreign Languages Course, Link Tutor

Chris Wakely is a qualified teacher of French and German, with experience of teaching in comprehensive schools in different parts of the UK.  He also speaks and teaches Italian.  Since 1995 he has worked as Adviser for Modern Foreign Languages for Devon LEA, supporting teaching and learning in the County's primary, middle, special and secondary schools.  He is a qualified and experienced Ofsted Inspector and has been involved in teacher training since 1998. Chris is also co-ordinator of the West Country Comenius Centre, a modern languages resource base funded by CILT (Centre for Information in Language Teaching and Research).  In this role he is responsible for co-ordinating a regional support group for teaching languages in primary schools as part of the government's National Languages Strategy.

Meriel Hughes - Link Tutor

Meriel is an experienced teacher and former Head of Drama, currently in charge of inclusion at Coombeshead Community College. She provides examination based demonstration classes for Drama trainees and acts as the Link Tutor for the course in developing ways for the staff at the Training Centre to use the resources at Coombeshead College to benefit the full trainee cohort.

Sian Morgan - Deputy Course Manager and History Specialist

Sian Morgan is an experienced teacher of History and Head of Year in Key Stages 3 and 4 and a former Key Stage 5 Guidance and Achievement Leader in a large comprehensive school in South East London. In addition, she was a Senior Mentor for SCITT and GTP trainees with Bromley Schools Collegiate before joining DSTTG.

As Deputy Course Manager she assists the Course Manager in all aspects of the course including the taught general professional studies programme.
